Dick, a Simple 16-Bit Computer

Dick, named after Richard Stallman, is the first computer I ever designed. You'll have to excuse the name, I was 15 at the time; if I had made it today, it would inexorably have been given a better name.

It's a 16-bit OISC TTA with 8-bit addresses. Programming in it is tedious and difficult.

I created it in 2016 and then revisited it in 2026 to make some additions and improvements to the documentation, add an assembler and some example programmes to the emulator page, and various small changes. I did not change the computer itself.

Here are some links:

Documentation on architecture and design. Not as comprehensive as the documentation for some of my other computers.
Emulator, with some example programmes provided.
